This year has been full of obstacles and challenges. Since COVID-19 struck, breast screening rates have plummeted by as much as 94% across the United States. This in a year when more than 42,000 people will likely die from breast cancer. 42,000 lives that could have otherwise been spared. Even worse, the National Cancer Institute is projecting that over 10,000 lives will be lost to cancer from missed screenings and appointments.

There are so many things out of our control now, but proper breast health shouldn't be one of them. Skipping an annual screening can result in a later stage diagnosis, which can lead to more invasive treatment and poorer outcomes, including death.
