Development Intern
Position Description: The Brem Foundation is seeking a motivated and responsible Development Intern for the Spring 2019 semester to contribute to fundraising initiatives and growth. The intern will work closely with the Manager of Development and Operations as well as the Director of Development to identify key sources of revenue including grants, private donors, corporate partnerships, and cause marketing. The intern will be substantially involved in executing a fundraising strategy which includes assisting in planning and organizing fundraising events and maintaining donor database and communication. The Manager of Development and Operations and the Director of Development are committed to mentoring and including the intern in meetings and opportunities including interfacing with corporate partners, reaching out to individual donors, and discussing strategy with key stakeholders, where appropriate.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy
Track fundraising goals and progress
Research new individual donor prospects to reach foundation’s revenue goal
Identify and pursue new development opportunities, such as grants or corporate sponsorships
Assist in planning, coordination and regularly attending donor cultivation and programmatic events.
Data entry and gift processing
Attend meetings with stakeholders, where appropriate
Support the management of the donor database
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
Strong organizational skills
Self-starter--must be willing to take initiative independently with little direction or supervision
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience working with fundraising, nonprofits, or databases a plus
Passion for Brem’s mission
Hours are flexible, but the intern is expected to work 15-20 hours/wk. Internship can be done for academic credit.

Communications, Social Media, & Programming Intern
Position Description: The Brem Foundation is seeking a motivated and creative Communications, Social Media & Programming Intern for the Spring 2019 semester. The intern will work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programming on a wide range of projects including support of Brem’s educational programs, social media strategy, media and community outreach, website and social media management, and campaign creation. The ideal candidate is self-directed and has the ability to think creatively about long and short term goals. The Director of Strategy and Programming is committed to mentoring and including the intern in diverse projects and opportunities, including marketing and communications strategy, development of programming goals and execution, and interfacing with partners, donors and community members.
Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement a social media calendar and strategy
Regularly update social media and website with engaging content
Research and prepare reports on key facts and issues about breast cancer in DC
Draft bi-monthly newsletter
Track social media engagement and growth, and analytics and update Director of Strategy and Programming weekly
Research potential opportunities with media sponsors and partners
Represent the Brem Foundation professionally at fundraising and educational events
Other duties as assigned

Proficiency in social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
Field of study and skills: Communications, PR, Marketing, or similar

Graphic Design Intern
Position Description: The Brem Foundation is seeking a motivated and creative Graphic Design Intern for the Spring 2019 semester to support a wide range of marketing efforts to tell the story of the organization’s work and community and to increase engagement with new and existing audiences. The intern will work closely with the Director of Strategy and Programming on projects including digital strategy, graphic design of online and print materials, and campaign creation. The ideal candidate is self-directed and has the ability to think creatively about long and short term goals. The Director of Strategy and Programming is committed to mentoring and including the intern in diverse projects and opportunities, including marketing and communications strategy, development of programming goals and execution, and interfacing with partners, donors and community members.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Draft marketing and graphic images for social media, website, and print materials
Organize digital assets library including photos, videos, logos, and files
Actively engage in program and fundraising events to capture photos and videos from participants
Assist with administrative tasks including updating digital signage, printing and distributing flyers, and supporting set-up and breakdown of key programmatic events and other duties as assigned
Represent the Brem Foundation professionally at meetings, fundraisers and educational events

Qualifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to remain organized and thrive in a fast-paced and fluctuating environment
Experience with web design a plus but not required
Experience with graphic design programs
Field of study: Graphic Art and Communications, PR or Marketing
